They are now seeking a Business Development Manager (UK Wide) to help drive new business and strengthen existing relationships across OEMs, system integrators, and industrial end users. This is a high-impact, autonomous role suited to someone who combines deep technical understanding with commercial flair.

The Role

As Business Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing sales across the UK, managing key accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities. Working closely with the company’s engineering and applications teams, you’ll deliver tailored drive and automation solutions that meet each customer’s technical and commercial needs.

Key Responsibilities:



Grow market share through proactive business development and account management.

Identify and pursue new opportunities within OEM, end-user, and system integrator networks.

*

Promote a comprehensive portfolio including geared motors, industrial gear units, frequency inverters, and drive systems.

*

Develop long-term strategic relationships with decision-makers, engineers, and procurement teams.

*

Collaborate with internal technical teams to ensure solution alignment and customer satisfaction.

*

Prepare and deliver technical presentations, quotations, and commercial proposals.

*

Monitor market activity, competitor developments, and emerging industry trends.

About You

You’ll be a technically minded sales professional with a strong background in mechanical power transmission, drives, or automation — someone equally comfortable in front of engineers as they are negotiating with senior stakeholders.

Essential Requirements:

*

Proven track record in external sales or business development within mechanical, electrical, or industrial automation sectors.

*

Strong understanding of geared motors, gearboxes, variable speed drives, or related motion control products.

*

Experience selling into OEMs, system integrators, or industrial end users.

*

Solid commercial and technical acumen with consultative sales ability.

*

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

*

Self-motivated, results-driven, and comfortable managing a UK-wide territory.

Desirable:

*

Experience in sectors such as food & beverage, logistics, materials handling, energy, or water/wastewater.

*

Understanding of automation, control systems, or electromechanical integration.

*

Established network within UK manufacturing or process industries.

Qualifications:

*

HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent experience).

*

Full UK driving licence required.
