Maintenance Technician

The Role

To install equipment, resolve breakdowns and carry out preventative maintenance to plant and service utilities across the site. To provide technical support to all departments to ensure highest levels of plant availability are maintained across all shifts and comply with all applicable legislation.

Maintenance Technician

Main Responsibilities

· Effectively diagnose and rectify mechanical plant and utility service breakdowns.

· Carry out planned preventative maintenance actions.

· Ensure availability of equipment to set objectives.

· Ensure plant, equipment and utility services are maintained in a safe and efficient working order and comply with all appropriate legislation.

· Identify and implement breakdown reduction opportunities.

· Liaise with external suppliers and services as required.

· Be committed to the application and implementation of housekeeping and Health, Safety & Environmental requirements across the site.

· Maintain and update procedural documentation for the effective maintenance of all plant and services across the site.

· Contribute to an effective maintenance team, undergo personnel development training and assist and train others in all relevant fields.

· Support the Team and FCM Administration in fulfilling their tasks.

· Drive and support continuous improvements.

Maintenance Technician

The Candidate

· Time served apprentice with Electrical/Mechanical qualifications, (17th Edition, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, mechanical drive trains & crank presses, laser combination, robotics)

· Welding experience

· Electrical fault finding

· General machine shop skills, milling, turning & bench work.

· Broad based mechanical planned maintenance system knowledge.

· Competent PC user.

· Effective and proactive problem solver.

· Awareness of continuous improvement and preventative maintenance methodologies.
