This role involves designing, developing, and commissioning PLC and HMI software for advanced industrial automation systems used in safety-critical environments. The engineer will work on bespoke projects from concept to delivery, integrating control software with electrical hardware, motion systems, and industrial networks. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and on-site commissioning are key aspects of the position.
This role involves writing, maintaining, and troubleshooting PLC software and electrical control systems for a food manufacturing facility. You will lead installations, design control panels, and train shift engineers and apprentices while working closely with OEMs and maintaining site safety and hygiene standards.
The Automation Engineer designs, integrates, and commissions programmable automation systems including PLCs, robots, and safety-critical controls across manufacturing and assembly environments. This role spans the full project lifecycle, from functional design and virtual commissioning to on-site installation and user training, with a focus on delivering robust, compliant systems using industry-standard technologies. The engineer also supports junior staff and promotes digital transformation through Industry 4.0 practices.
Design and implement industrial automation systems using PLCs, HMI, and SCADA technologies across the full project lifecycle, from concept and design to commissioning and support. Work closely with engineering teams and clients to develop functional specifications, integrate control systems, and deliver robust automation solutions.
