Business Development Manager – Energy Sector

£55000 - £65000 (£70K+ OTE) Car or Allowance, PMI, Life Assurance, Pension. 25 days Holiday. Field Based.

Our client has a superb opportunity for a Business Development Manager with a background in Industrial Automation to take responsibility for the sales and growth of the full product range of components and solution to the Energy Sector, specifically Renewable and zero emission energy. The successful candidate will be working to achieve design in and specification of the clients products in the sector. You'll operate as a key driver of new business, working alongside experts in automation and connectivity to deliver technically tailored system solutions to a high-value client base. With the freedom to engage clients face-to-face and the support of a deeply knowledgeable technical team, you'll drive substantial value into key industrial markets.

We invite applications from outstanding candidates with proven sales ability and performance, and ideally with exposure to and knowledge of the renewable energy sector. Your recent experience could be across renewable energy generally or with a focus in a specific area such as Solar (Highly Desirable), Wind, or Hydrogen. You are likely to be educated to HNC/HND or Degree level in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, and will likely either have previous career experience in industrial control & automation, or be very experienced and knowledgeable of the customers and dynamics of the renewable energy sector. You will have sales experience, be highly technically and commercially competent with excellent communication skills and an ability to influence decision makers. You will require knowledge of the markets, customer types in this sector and be able to demonstrate this. The role carries overall responsibility for the national sales target for this product line and you will deliver profitable growth of sales by direct involvement and working through the main sales team, along with marketing and specification colleagues to drive results. Home based but ideally with good access to major road network as national travel will be involved. This is a key role and reports at the most senior level.

  • Probable Degree/HNC/HND or equivalent technical qualification

  • Strong and structured negotiation skills

  • Good IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Powerpoint & Excel)
