Paint Technician required to join a leading luxury department based in Ryton on Dunsmore on a temporary contract paying £29.22 per hour (PAYE).

They are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Paint Technician to join their team. This role is offered on a 3-month contract basis with possible ongoing, long term or permanent opportunities for the right candidates.

You will be responsible for spray painting vehicle areas not accessible by the robotic line, as well as components like bumpers and plastic trims, ensuring an OEM-quality finish. This includes inspecting surfaces, blending, and matching paints, and applying various finishes such as metallic, matte, and pearlescent. You will manage the full process from prep to final polish, maintaining high standards throughout.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Paint Technician:

Carry out precision spray painting on areas of vehicles that are inaccessible to the robotic paint line, ensuring complete and high-quality coverage.
Paint individual parts and components such as bumpers, plastic trims, and other exterior elements to OEM standards.
Perform thorough paint inspections to identify any surface defects and carry out corrective work as required.
Use a variety of spray-painting techniques for accurate and even application.
Blend and match paint accurately for seamless colour integration.
Work confidently with a wide range of paint types, including: Solid and two-pack paints, Metallic finishes, Pearlescent paints, Matte finishes, and Special/custom finishes
Be involved in the entire paint process—from preparation and application through to final polishing—maintaining high standards of workmanship throughout.
The Ideal Paint Technician:

City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in an automotive discipline

Ability to work under pressure and to achieve tight deadlines.
Full UK driving license required (6 points maximum)

Knowledge and practical understanding of H&S, C.O.S.H.H and environmental procedures
Flexibility in working hours as per business needs.
Working hours: 36 hours per week - 3 Shift rotation – Applicants must be available to work across all 3 shift patterns.

Earlies: 6am – 1.30pm (Monday to Thursday) & 6am – 12pm (Friday)
Lates: 1.30pm – 9pm (Monday to Thursday) & 12pm – 6pm (Friday)
Nights: 9pm – 6am (Monday – Thursday)
Pay Rates: 

Earlies, Lates & Nights: £29.22 per hour uplifted to £35.80 per hour to be paid via Umbrella PAYE

This position is deemed Inside of IR35. The final pay rate offered will be inclusive of Assignment rate, Holiday Pay and Apex Recruitments contribution towards the costs of a Payroll Administrator
