Applications Engineer – CNC Automation

£40,000 – £50,000 DOE + Car + Benefits

Field-based / Commutable to Coventry

A UK-based CNC machine tool distributor is looking to appoint an experienced Applications Engineer to join their specialist Automation Team. This role involves developing and commissioning integrated CNC and robotic solutions across the UK, with a focus on supporting customers from pre-sale to installation and training.

Applicants must have a strong background in CNC programming, including setting, operating and tooling across turning and milling. Fanuc control experience is essential, and knowledge of Siemens, Heidenhain or Fusion 360 is an advantage. Previous exposure to robot programming is desirable but not essential—training will be provided.

This is a field-based position with regular time spent at the company’s Coventry facility. Candidates must live within a commutable distance of Coventry and hold a full UK driving licence.

Key Requirements:

Time-served CNC engineer (apprenticeship-trained)

Minimum 5 years’ experience in applications or advanced machining

Strong understanding of 5-axis and/or multitasking machines

Comfortable with customer-facing responsibilities and technical problem-solving
