Automation Maintenance Engineer

Annual Salary: £41,225 - £46,092
Location: Sittingbourne, Kent
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, Rotating Day/Evening Shift. Monday to Friday 07.00-15.00 / 15.00-23.00 on a weekly rotational basis with 30-minute paid break a per day (8 hours a day / 40 hours a week) Join a leader in the design and manufacture of specialist plastic systems widely used in the UK construction industry. We are seeking an experienced Automation Maintenance Engineer to take responsibility for the routine, proactive, and reactive maintenance of machinery within our clients manufacturing areas.

Day-to-day of the Automation Maintenance Engineer role:

Maintain the Automation and Production departments.
Carry out regular and routine servicing on all machinery to ensure quality and machine efficiency are maintained.
Perform tool changes on automatic machinery as required to follow the production planning schedule.
Monitor the performance of machinery in the department and maintain detailed maintenance records for each machine.
Adjust automation machinery to ensure efficiency, ensuring bag length, artworks and quantities align with company specifications.
Oversee the maintenance of injection moulding machinery and all associated ancillary equipment, including conveyors.
Maintain a stock of essential spare parts on-site to reduce downtime caused by breakdowns.
Oversee contractors working on machinery in the Automation or Production department.

Required Skills & Qualifications of the Automation Maintenance Engineer:

Completion of a recognised Engineering apprenticeship / HNC.
Minimum 3 years' experience working as part of a maintenance team.
Multi-skilled in both mechanical and electrical engineering.
Knowledge of pneumatic systems and industrial automation.
Desirable: Experience in 6-axis robot programming (ABB, Staubli, KUKA) and PLC programming (Mitsubishi or Allen Bradley).
