BigSis, a UK start-up, is applying robotics and artificial intelligence to transform the production of sterile male insects, which are used for chemical-free control of pest insects. BigSis has developed a pilot automated production line and is now scaling to millions of insects per week.

Purpose and responsibilities
 
BigSis is in the process of leasing a new 1,500m² production site with a tight schedule to be ready by the end of the year. We require a project manager to develop the fit-out plan, then lead the contractor-side procurement and delivery of the internal fit-out package, which covers modular production areas, offices and welfare facilities. This role requires strong experience in the fit-out of industrial buildings and M&E including environmentally controlled areas.
 
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the fit-out, coordinating across trades and disciplines to ensure quality, compliance, and program alignment. They will apply their leadership and commercial acumen to drive delivery and manage interfaces across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of the internal fit-out works, ensuring alignment
• with project scope, program, and cost objectives
• Interface with the contractors, consultants and internal teams
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Monitor quality and ensure delivery aligns with specification and statutory requirements
• Manage site safety, logistics and sequencing with support from construction and H&S teams
• Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks and issues proactively
• Report progress, performance, and issues to senior stakeholders on a regular basis
• Support commissioning and handover planning for completed fit-out areas
 
Required Skills and Experience
 
• Proven experience delivering internal fit-out packages on large office or commercial projects
• Experience in managing M&E (mechanical and electrical) fit-out works
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to develop and manage project program
• Demonstrable risk management and problem-solving abilities
• Experience working in live or partially occupied environments is desirable
