Electrical Engineer - Industrial Manufacturing

Location: Newport, South Wales

Salary: £38,500

Shift: Permanent Early- Monday to Friday

Holiday: 25 days + Bank Holidays

Join a global manufacturer with a strong local presence and a reputation for innovation, quality, and sustainability. Our Newport-based facility is a high-volume production site with over 400 staff and a focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

We are currently recruiting a Electrical Engineer to join the site's skilled maintenance team, ensuring production uptime through proactive and reactive electrical maintenance on a wide range of equipment.  If you're an experienced Electrical Engineer ready to take on a varied and rewarding role, apply now to be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Respond to breakdowns and perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM)

Electrical fault finding, repair, and troubleshooting on manufacturing machinery

Support projects and improvement initiatives

Work in accordance with health, safety, and environmental procedures

Ensure site cleanliness and uphold high housekeeping standards

Issue work permits and oversee contractor compliance

Work collaboratively across teams to achieve production goals
What You'll Need:

Time-served/apprentice-trained with relevant electrical qualifications
Experience with:

MustAC/DC drives, inverters, and power electronics
PLC fault finding
Electromechanical and optical sensors
Industrial electrical installation and safe isolation procedures
Computer-based maintenance systems (CMMS)
Knowledge of Fanuc robots (desirable)
Strong fault-finding/problem-solving skills
Understanding of safe systems of work (e.g., lockout/tagout)
Physically fit and comfortable working in a hands-on environment
