Job Title: Electronic / Electrical Test Technician

Location: Congleton

Pay Rate: £17.95 + 50% shift allowance

Hours: 10pm - 06:00am

Contract Duration: 12 Months

This role is inside IR35

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Electronic/Electrical Test Technician to support our manufacturing operations. Your key responsibility will be ensuring factory assets are operational and available when needed to help maintain world-class manufacturing outcomes. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical control knowledge, experience with PCB and final function testing, and a basic understanding of mechanical systems.

About the Role

This role offers significant opportunities for cross-functional development in both mechanical and electrical disciplines. The facility leverages cutting-edge digitalization and automation technologies, and the successful candidate will have the chance to grow in areas such as robotics and PLC control.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the availability and functionality of production equipment to support manufacturing output.
Collect and analyse machine data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Work closely with repair and quality teams to investigate and resolve product failures.
Use diagnostic tools such as digital multimeters to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Diagnose and resolve faults with ICT (In-Circuit Test) and FFT (Final Function Test) systems and fixtures.
Respond to support requests via helpdesk to minimize equipment downtime.
Perform both proactive and reactive maintenance tasks in a shift-based environment.
Manage and track asset performance using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).Qualifications and Experience:

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
Solid understanding of electrical and electronic testing methods.
Knowledge of electrical control systems.
Familiarity with continuous improvement practices (e.g., 5S, TPM, CIP, Lean).
A logical and methodical approach to problem-solving.
Willingness and ability to work shifts and overtime, including weekends.Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with electronic production test equipment (e.g., Teradyne, GenRad, Agilent, Takaya).
Familiarity with software programming languages such as C or C++.
Experience working with three-phase electrical production test systems and their safety requirements.
Demonstrated integrity, initiative, and dedication to continuous improvement.
