Field Engineer£35-45,000 + Company Car + Pension + BenefitsManchester-based with UK Travel (Mostly within 100 miles) 

Are you an experienced engineer with a background in IT or electromechanical systems, looking for a varied and autonomous role in industrial automation Our client, a specialist in process and manufacturing technology, is seeking a Field Engineer to deliver high-quality technical solutions to clients across the UK.

As the key representative on client sites, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, system audits, and proactive service delivery. You’ll ensure that technology solutions align with client needs while adhering to safety, quality, and security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide on-site technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for client systems
Conduct site audits and assess client procedures against industry best practices
Review technical documentation, method statements, and processes
Perform in-house and client-witnessed tests to ensure system reliability
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues
Contribute to marketing, sales activities, and identification of new business opportunities
Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance

Person Specification:

Essential:

IT or electromechanical background with experience in both fields
Previous experience in an industrial or process environment
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on client sites
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Commercial awareness and a results-driven mindset

Desirable:

Experience with PLCs, SCADA, and industrial automation systems
Knowledge of control systems and data-driven industrial solutions
Familiarity with regulatory and technological advancements in the sector
Willingness to travel and occasionally stay overnight for work assignments
