About Engineius
Engineius’ goal is simple: to make vehicle movement easy. We are on our way to creating the leading end-to-end movement solution in the UK for our customers (such as Hertz and The AA), delivered by our network of 600+ drivers and transport agents across the UK.
Since going live in April 2018, we have acquired over 80 clients, many of whom can claim to be amongst the largest players in the UK automotive industry. We are already one of the largest competitors in our space but have ambitions to grow much further and we are crazy about sustainability. To date we have saved fleets over 9,000,000 tonnes of CO2.
We are seeing our hard work paying off as we have won seven awards, including Best Fleet Software three years in a row, a highly commended well-being award, two innovation awards, and one outstanding product of the year award.
About the Position
Development and management of our productions systems moved in-house a little under four years ago, since then we have been building out a seriously talented team to grow our platform. Our core application is hosted in AWS on Linux containers, developed in C# .NET Core with a SPA Angular front-end along with an accompanying native mobile app on iOS & Android. We also have some data processing services and machine learning workloads.
You will be a core member of the IT team delivering our 24/7 production system. Having been involved in production systems with multiple years of experience, you will have architected and built new applications and features, provided ongoing improvements and fixes. You’ll be the type of Engineer who is very comfortable diving deep into code. With this knowledge you’ll be able to quickly get up to speed with our application domain and start making an impact.
For the mobile development, we are looking for experience of Kotlin and Swift, and for someone who has experience developing native mobile apps and APIs.
Your primary focus is shared between the ongoing improvement and support of our mobile app and improvement and support of our web app where necessary. You will be working alongside the Developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of quality solutions is essential.
As we are in our ‘growth phase’ you will be joining this expanding IT team. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, enjoys the vibrant nature of a start-up like environment, is focused on helping us to build our platform, adaptable to change, and keen to help in our overall vision.
What You'll Do:

  • Research and track advancements in mobile/web application design patterns.
  • Break any design problem down into viable actionable units of work and solve them with clarity and precision.
  • Staying in the loop and on top of the latest standards, changes, trends in the mobile/web design field.
  • Design, build, and maintain high performance, reusable, and reliable code.
  • Cooperating with the back-end developers in the process of building the RESTful API.
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs.
  • Help maintain code quality, organisation, and automation.
  • Help maintain build server Xcode and packages.
    What We're Looking For:
  • Hands-on experience with core iOS frameworks such as UIKit, Combine, Core Data, and Core Animation.
  • Ability to optimise and enhance the performance of iOS applications.
  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining iOS applications.
  • Proven ability to deliver high quality designs to meet customer requirements.
  • Deep knowledge of SPA best practices, architecture and modularisation based on extensive work experience.
  • Experience with offline storage, threading and performance tuning.
  • Experience of geo-location, tracking, and mapping is beneficial.
  • Deep understanding of Apple’s HID guidelines, and Google’s Material design.
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and Push Notifications.
  • Knack for Benchmarking and Optimisation.
  • Proficient understanding of version control software such as Git.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration.
  • Multiple years development and delivery of mobile applications in a commercial environment on iOS/Android platforms with a portfolio of mobile applications that demonstrate your ability to build and support mobile applications that integrate into corporate business critical systems.
  • Significant portfolio of applications built with a SPA framework either wholly by yourself or as part of a team where significant portions of the application were built by you.
Technical Experience: iOS Development using Swift; Combine Framework; UIKit; Git
Experience of the following would be beneficial: Kotlin; C# .NET Core; Angular or another SPA framework; UX / UI Design; Amazon Web Services; Gitlab CI or another CI/CD platform; RESTful API design; SQLite and MySQL; Mobile Automation Testing (e.g. Appium, Espresso)

New Robotics Employers to Watch in 2026: UK and Global Companies Transforming Automation Careers

Robotics is moving rapidly from factory floors into healthcare, logistics, agriculture, autonomous systems, and consumer products. As automation becomes embedded in everyday life, companies are investing in robots that operate alongside humans, analyse environments in real time, and learn from data. In 2026, demand for robotics engineers, software developers, system integrators, and AI specialists continues to surge. For professionals exploring opportunities on www.RoboticsJobs.co.uk , understanding the employers that are scaling, winning contracts, securing investment, or expanding into the UK market is crucial. This article highlights top robotics employers to watch in 2026, spanning innovative startups, high‑growth scale‑ups, and established global technology leaders with strong UK presence.

How Many Robotics Tools Do You Need to Know to Get a Robotics Job?

If you’re pursuing a career in robotics, it can feel like the list of tools you should learn never ends. One job advert asks for ROS, another mentions Gazebo, another wants experience with Python, Linux, C++, RobotStudio, MATLAB/Simulink, perception stacks, control frameworks, real-time OS, vision libraries — and that’s just scratching the surface. With so many frameworks, languages and platforms, it’s no wonder robotics job seekers feel overwhelmed. But here’s the honest truth most recruiters won’t say explicitly: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every tool — they hire you because you can apply the right tools to solve real robotics problems reliably and explain your reasoning clearly. Tools matter — but only in service of outcomes. So the real question isn’t how many tools you should know, but which tools you should master and why. For most robotics roles, the answer is significantly fewer — and far more focused — than you might assume. This article breaks down what employers really expect, which tools are core, which are role-specific, and how to focus your learning so you look capable, confident, and ready to contribute from day one.

What Hiring Managers Look for First in Robotics Job Applications (UK Guide)

Robotics is one of the most dynamic, interdisciplinary fields in technology — blending mechanical systems, embedded software, controls, perception (AI/vision), modelling, simulation and systems integration. Hiring managers in this space are highly selective because robotics teams need people who can solve real-world problems under constraints, work across disciplines, and deliver safe, reliable systems. And here’s the reality: hiring managers do not read every word of your CV. Like in many tech domains, they scan quickly — often forming a judgement in the first 10–20 seconds. In robotics, those first signals are especially important because the work is complex and there’s a wide range of candidate backgrounds. This guide unpacks exactly what hiring managers look for first in robotics applications and how to optimise your CV, portfolio and cover letter so you stand out in the UK market.
