The Role:

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Security Support Officer to join the Saab UK Ltd Security Team and assist with a variety of administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will assist in all administrative duties including vetting, record maintenance and purchasing. Saab UK has employees working all over the country, the successful candidate will report to the Head of Security, the role will be based at either London, Farnborough or Westbury (Wiltshire) but there will be some occasional travel to other office locations throughout the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the onboarding and offboarding processes, including document preparation, security vetting and updating records.
Coordination of pre-employment screening requirements. Liaison between Security, HR and potential employee.
Collation of required documentation from potential employees.
Booking of background checks and liaison with analysts.
Coordination of diaries with Security Team and potential employees.
Control the coordination of Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks and maintain the BPSS register.
Run the National Security Vetting account and register, and provide aftercare assistance. Liaise with NSV, new starters and transfers.
Help organise security training sessions, scheduling workshops, booking facilities and liaison with external stakeholders.
Track employee training and maintain records and certifications.
Liaison with contracting authorities to ensure documented security requirements are reviewed annually.
Control the purchasing of items and services for security function.
Control the applications for all security clearances via National Security Vetting Service and maintain the Saab UK Vetting Register.
Conduct periodic checks with security cleared personnel to ensure any changes in personal circumstances are recorded and actioned.
Assist with the controlling of the IVCO (International Visits Coordination Office) process for inbound and outbound visits in accordance with IVCO requirements.
Control and maintain records of 'Letters of Intent' between various Saab business areas.
Responsible for booking and organising Travel Security Training
Maintain the Saab UK Security event calendar and programme resources from the security team.
Contribute to the strategic security plan in line with Saab UK Growth.
Assist the Saab UK Head of Security with any additional tasks within the wider security function.
Required skills:

Sole UK National.
Current SC Clearance or be able to meet the requirements for SC.
Good attention to detail.
Proven administration experience.
Excellent communication skills in English, verbal and written.
Time management
Team collaboration
Confidentiality and professionalism
Proven experience as an Administrator, Admin Assistant, or in a similar role.
Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Desired but not essential skills:

Experience within the defence, police or security area.
Former vetting experience.
