My Client situated in Salford are looking for a Service Technician to add to to their growing servicing team.

My Client specialise in the design, manufacture and distribution of pipeline inspection systems both in the UK and internationally.

The inspection systems are assembled, tested, and distributed from our purpose-built modern facilities in Salford, near Manchester in the UK, with a satellite site in Austria producing machined components.

The Role -Service Technician

As a Service Technician you’ll deal with customers who are bringing in equipment for repair and you’ll assess returned equipment across our product range and fault find to understand the reason for a system or products fault. You’ll then and subsequently carrying out a repairs of mechanical and electrical nature to return the equipment to full use and be responsible for writing up the service job to provide feedback and details of parts used in the repair. Our Service Technician’s work across all of our products including cameras, robotic crawlers, control units, cable reels and coiler rods. This is a varied role with offers the opportunity to work on fault finding and repairs across a variety of products with daily interaction with our customers.

The Package - Service Technician

  • Salary £28-£30k per annum (DOE)

  • Mon-Fri days, 37.5 hours/week plus time & half overtime

  • Quarter & Annual Performance Bonus

    Responsibilities/Tasks - Service Technician

  • Fault finding across all products to component level identifying issues of an electrical and mechanical nature.

  • Ability to read schematics/technical drawings and dissemble and re-assemble products

  • Carry out repairs, maintenance and services to Minicam equipment including repairs to cameras, robotic crawlers, control units, cable reels and rod re-terminations.

  • Liaise with customers both face to face and over the phone with a focus on providing excellent customer service.

  • Provide technical support to customers experiencing issues.

  • Book in systems and complete job sheets in our ERP system to record details of the work carried out, labour hours and parts used.

  • Monitor stock levels and raise stock order requests

  • Provide goods in/out support and assistance in picking spare parts when required

    Requirements - Service Technician

  • Mechanical/electrical background

  • Experience in soldering, including small components

  • Customer service experience

  • A can-do attitude

  • Computer literate

  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude to driving improvements.

  • Ability to work on your own or as part of a team

    Desirable - Service Technician

  • HNC or equivalent qualification

  • Experience working within a service department
