Leading the creation of bespoke systems for next generation healthcare

This team is developing specialist automation solutions for the biotech sector, and helping to bring about a revolution in healthcare by democratising advanced techniques that are currently too labour-intensive and too expensive for widespread adoption.

Reporting to the CTO, this is an important senior role where you will take ownership of the systems engineering strategy, reconciling requirements from clients, regulatory authorities, and the company’s own technology roadmap. You will be instrumental in transforming this strategy into bespoke client solutions based on a modular, configurable system architecture. The role will require close collaboration with customers, and internal experts across disciplines such as robotics, software, biology, or mechanical engineering.

You will need

  • A strong academic background with a 1st or 2.1 in a relevant engineering discipline from a highly ranked university

  • Prior success in delivering complex cross-disciplinary automation projects within a pharmaceutics or high tech manufacturing context

  • Excellent understanding of Systems Engineering from requirements capture to customer acceptance

  • Broad engineering knowledg

  • Strong leadership, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and inspire co-workers; ability to generate technical documentation (for instance for regulatory compliance)

  • Full, existing, and unrestricted UK work permission
