We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join a high-performing project team in Bray for a 6 month initial contract (likely to extend). This is a hands-on, site-based contract role where you'll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing automation systems that support pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.

You'll be instrumental in ensuring system reliability, driving continuous improvement, and supporting both operational excellence and strategic automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee automation systems to ensure maximum uptime and performance

Manage user access, system backups, and disaster recovery processes

Troubleshoot issues, implement corrective actions, and engage vendor technical support

Identify and deliver small-scale improvement projects to enhance performance

Contribute to capital planning, project execution, and technical documentation

Ensure all work complies with site Quality Systems and global standards

Develop and maintain engineering documentation and test scripts

Support and implement global automation strategies and standardisation initiatives

Maintain and optimise automation infrastructure and manufacturing systems

Lead automation projects, ensuring delivery against cost, schedule, and technical goals

Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practicesYour Profile

5+ years' experience in GMP manufacturing

Solid understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and regulatory requirements

Experience with automation platforms such as Siemens PCS7, Tia Portal, WinCC, or process control systems from other brands such as Mitsubishi, Rockwell, Omron.

Knowledge of standards including GAMP, ANSI/ISA, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, GxP/QA

Collaborative mindset with ability to work across cross-functional teams and global stakeholders
