About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and proactive Automation Engineer to join our growing team. This role involves carrying out maintenance, breakdown response, fault finding, repairs and remedial works on a range of automated systems including gates, barriers, doors and shutters across a nationwide customer base.

This position would suit an engineer who is self-driven, organised and takes pride in delivering a high standard of work. We are seeking someone with ambition, a positive attitude and a desire to develop their career while contributing to the growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities

* Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits.

* Breakdown attendance and fault diagnosis.

* Repair and remedial works on automated systems.

* Electrical and mechanical fault finding.

* Ensuring systems operate safely and remain compliant with current standards.

* Accurate completion of service records and reports.

* Maintaining strong customer relationships and providing excellent service.

Essential Requirements

* Experience working with automated gates, barriers, doors, shutters or similar automation systems.

* Strong electrical competency and fault-finding ability.

* Good understanding of relevant safety standards and industry best practices.

* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

* Full UK driving licence.

* Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Experience & Qualifications

* DHF Level 2 qualification.

* Gate Safe IOSH certification.

* Manufacturer training with leading automation providers.

* Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and growth.

* Proactive and self-motivated.

* Reliable and professional.

* Well organised with excellent time management skills.

* Customer focused and commercially aware.

* Ambitious, with aspirations to progress and take on further responsibility.

* Committed to continuous learning and professional development.

* Full and clean driving license
