The Role:

This role will be part of our BlueBear Business in Bedfordshire.

This Electronics Component Engineer position will lead the data management, component supplier identification and ECAD data drawing tasks for the the electronics design and prototyping department.

This role is suited to a highly detail oriented person with experience in detailed electronic design, extensive knowledge of component parameters and good supplier relationships. The candidate should be used to working in regulated environments and strict documentation and traceability requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Execution:

Manage full PCB and wiring harness data through it's lifecycle. From requirements documentation, to design documentation, issuing production data to manufacturers and resolving supplier queries.

Design Standardisation & Quality Governance:

Act as the go to resource within the department for data management, supplier selection and PCB library management.

Follow in house processes and procedures for data management, database cleansing and schematic symbol + footprint drawing.

Project Team Coordination:

Work with the design team and electronics assembly team to ensure selection and provision of suitable electronics components and COTS systems.

Work in a fast paced environment to deliver schematic symbol and PCB footprint design data in a standardised format in Altium.

Ensure personal workloads, priorities and dependencies are managed effectively to meet schedule commitments.

Qualifications and Skills:

Essential:

* 3-4 years experience in electronics component engineering/component librarian roles for modern high speed, high component density systems.

* Significant expertise in schematic symbol and PCB footprint design.

* Detailed understanding of the electronics manufacturing processes

* Excellent attention to detail.

* Process driven, ability to implement processes to ensure adherence.

* Excellent time management/prioritisation skills

* Highly organised and able to work multi projects in fast paced environment

* Adaptable personality with professional approach

* Good verbal and written communication skills

* Excellent organisation skills

* Conscientious, with a proactive work ethic

Desirable:

* Experience working on many projects at once and managing your time effectively.

* Experience of interfacing with subcontractors

* Experience with relevant IPC standards 2221, 7351, 610, 6012 e.t.c

* Experience working within a highly regulated industry. (Aerospace, rail, military, medical…)

Subject to UK MoD security clearance vetting to a minimum SC level

As a National Security Vetting clearance is required for this role, applicants will be required to hold National Security Vetting clearance to SC level or have the ability to gain it.
