Company Overview - Field Service Engineer (Automated Gates & Barriers)

Our client, a leading name in door and gate automation, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their valued team on a full-time, permanent basis.

Their services cover a wide range of automated solutions including doors (swing, sliding, revolving), gates, barriers, bollards, roller shutters, shop fronts, dock levellers, sectional and industrial doors, and loading bay systems.

Due to continued growth driven by their strong reputation and industry expertise, they are looking for a motivated and forward-thinking individual to support their expanding operations.

You’ll join a supportive team committed to high standards, with training, tools, and resources provided to help you succeed.

Field Service Engineer (Automated Gates & Barriers) Role and Responsibilities:

  • Good mix of reactive works, call outs, servicing, pre-planned maintenance visits, repairs and installation of the following: Automated powered doors; swing, sliding and revolving, automatic gates; swing, sliding and revolving, rising bollards, automated barriers, roller shutters, shop fronts, dock levellers, sectional doors, industrial doors and loading bay systems. Experience with all of these is preferred but not essential
  • Training can be provided on the necessary systems however a background in the industry is essential
  • You will cover mainly the North West area of the UK
  • You will be working with a range of commercial, industrial and large residential clients
  • Take responsibility for the overall quality of the work delivered on-site
  • Carry out effective communications with the client and administration team
  • Ensure the company meets its obligations and adheres to guidelines and regulations laid down by the professional bodies they subscribe to
  • Work closely with other engineers and provide support and training to more junior members of the team

Field Service Engineer (Automated Gates & Barriers) Skills and Experience:

  • A full UK driving licence or equivalent (Essential)
  • Experience working with a range of equipment such as Gilgen, Ditec, Record, Geze, FAAC, CAME, BFT, Parking Facilities, Roger Technology and Horton
  • Able to work on your own as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good Fault / Problem solving skills
  • A drive and enthusiasm to grab hold of opportunities
  • To be conscientious and honest at all times
  • A positive attitude and the ability to self-motivate is a must

Field Service Engineer (Automated Gates & Barriers) Desirable Qualifications:

  • ADSA/ADIA BS EN 16005 Qualification
  • DHF Gate Safety Certification/ Diploma.
  • CSCS / ECS Card
  • IPAF & PASMA
  • Excellent knowledge and experience working with at least 2 of the above manufacturers
  • Possess the eagerness to learn and pick up new skills
