The role

Wayve is hiring a senior Head of UK & EU Policy to lead our policy and regulatory engagement strategy across the UK and Europe. This person will serve as Wayve’s senior representative for all European governments, helping unlock commercial deployment opportunities for Wayve’s autonomous driving technology across Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 products and our future mobility partnerships.

You will define and deliver public affairs strategies that enable development and commercialisation across key European markets, while partnering closely with Commercial, Product, Engineering, Safety, Legal and Communications teams to support Wayve’s evolving go-to-market strategy. This role will be instrumental in shaping how autonomous driving technology is introduced across the UK and Europe and offers the opportunity to influence policy conversations at the forefront of AI-powered mobility.

Key responsibilities:

  • Own execution of Wayve’s UK and European public policy and regulatory strategy, ensuring alignment with global policy objectives and commercial goals
  • Lead Wayve’s engagement with key government departments across the whole region, including national transport authorities and city-level stakeholders.
  • Build high-level relationships with regulatory agencies including organisations such as KBA in Germany, RDW in the Netherlands and equivalent authorities across Europe
  • Establish Wayve as a trusted and credible voice in autonomous mobility policy discussions across London, Brussels and major European cities
  • Build and execute a scalable multi-country engagement strategy that supports Wayve’s evolving commercial and deployment roadmap
  • Advocate for regulatory approaches and frameworks that enable safe autonomous vehicle development, pilots and deployment at scale across European markets
  • Build coalitions and relationships with industry associations, policymakers, transport authorities, academic institutions and external partners to support constructive policy outcomes
  • Draft and deliver regulatory submissions, consultation responses, technical briefings, policy papers and executive-level communications tailored to UK and European audiences
  • Partner closely with Legal, Safety, Engineering and Communications teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear policy positions and external messaging
  • Represent Wayve at government meetings, industry events, regulatory workshops and public forums across the UK and Europe
  • Monitor and assess emerging regulatory developments, political dynamics and policy risks impacting autonomous driving, AI and future mobility

About you

In order to set you up for success as a Head of UK & EU Policy at Wayve, we’re looking for the following skills and experience.

Essential

  • ~10 years of experience in public policy, government affairs, regulatory affairs or external affairs, with significant experience operating at a senior level across the UK and Europe
  • Excellent public speaker: you will be a key spokesperson for the company across the region
  • Deep understanding of the UK and European political and regulatory landscape, particularly within transport, mobility, automotive, AI or emerging technology sectors
  • Demonstrated success influencing policy and regulatory outcomes through direct engagement with regulators, government officials, policymakers and city authorities
  • Experience developing and executing multi-country engagement strategies that can adapt alongside changing commercial priorities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to represent Wayve credibly with senior external audiences
  • Strong technical literacy and ability to work effectively with engineering, product and safety teams to translate technical topics into policy and regulatory narratives
  • Experience navigating complex multicultural environments and operating across multiple jurisdictions simultaneously

Desirable

  • Experience within autonomous vehicles, mobility, transportation, ride-hailing or broader deep technology sectors
  • Existing relationships with European transport regulators, policymakers or city-level stakeholders
  • Additional European language skills such as French, German or Spanish
  • Experience building or scaling policy functions within a high-growth organisation

Robotics Jobs in the UK: Roles, Skills, Salaries and How to Get Hired (2026 Guide)

Robotics Jobs UK 2026: roles, salaries and skills for engineers and researchers in manufacturing, logistics, autonomous vehicles, defence and healthcare. In the UK, most robotics jobs cluster around hubs such as London, Cambridge, Bristol, Oxford, Manchester and Edinburgh, with common titles including Robotics Engineer, SLAM Engineer, Controls Engineer and Mechatronics Engineer. The most efficient way to browse live robotics jobs is via specialist boards like RoboticsJobs.co.uk, which curate roles specifically in this field so you are not lost in generic tech listings. This guide covers everything you need to know about robotics jobs in the UK in 2026, from the roles and skills in demand to where to find live opportunities and how to stand out as a candidate.

Where to Advertise Robotics Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise robotics jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, university channels and community routes that reach robotics, SLAM and controls talent. The candidate pool spans mechanical engineers, software developers, controls specialists, computer vision researchers and systems integrators — a multidisciplinary mix that general job boards are poorly equipped to reach. The strongest robotics candidates are often embedded in research groups, defence programmes or advanced manufacturing environments, and move between roles through specialist networks and industry events rather than mainstream platforms. This guide, published by RoboticsJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise robotics roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

Robotics Jobs UK 2026: What to Expect Over the Next 3 Years

Robotics Jobs UK 2026: roles, salaries and the automation hiring trends shaping UK robotics careers over the next three years — industrial, service and humanoid. Robotics is having a moment that feels qualitatively different from the cycles of hype and disappointment that have characterised the sector in previous decades. The convergence of advances in AI, computer vision, battery technology, and hardware manufacturing has brought robotics to an inflection point — one where the gap between what robots can do in controlled laboratory conditions and what they can do in the unpredictable complexity of the real world is closing faster than at any previous point in the discipline's history. For job seekers, this inflection point is creating a jobs market that is expanding rapidly across a far wider range of industries and role types than robotics has historically occupied. Automotive and manufacturing remain significant employers, but they are now joined by logistics and warehousing, healthcare, agriculture, construction, defence, and the emerging category of humanoid robotics — each generating distinct hiring demand and drawing on overlapping but meaningfully different skill sets. The candidates who will thrive over the next three years are those who understand where the sector is heading — which application areas are scaling from pilot to production, which technologies are defining the architecture of modern robotic systems, and how the definition of a robotics career is evolving beyond the mechanical engineering core toward a much richer intersection of software, AI, and systems engineering. This article breaks down what the UK robotics jobs market is likely to look like through to 2028 — covering the titles emerging right now, the technologies driving employer demand, the skills that will matter most, and how to position your career at the leading edge of one of the most exciting technology transitions of the coming decade.
