Building Bespoke Machinery - Working from Engineering Drawings / Sub-Assembly & Assembly Build

5D Recruitment is proud to be working exclusively, and in partnership with a leading engineering company based in the heart of the home counties. Employing nearly 50 people they design, manufacture, assemble, test, and ship bespoke machinery from their new, world-class facility.

They are market leaders in the concept design and manufacture of fully automated, high precision, bespoke machines which are used to complete complex functions required to guarantee the quality of the product. Working across a variety of industries their main markets include the medical and scientific sectors.

They have long-standing agreements with some of the most renowned manufacturers in their sector, with a growing order book, and an excellent pipeline the future is looking exciting.

what the role will involve:

  • install the initial fabrications.

  • Installing pumps, trunking etc before the electrical fitters conduct their first fix.

  • Sub assembly build of components such as agitation systems, curing tanks / lids etc.

  • Installing robotic systems.

  • Building surrounds / canopies etc.

  • Installing those on to the main machine.

  • Installing pipework, typically this will be stainless steel pipework which is manufactured in house, and you’ll be installing it and bolting it in to place. There may also be some plastic pipework, cut to length with Swagelock fittings.

  • Installing filters, pumps, valves etc in to the main machine.

    what we are looking for in a trainee candidate:

  • mechanical engineering qualifications, or time served.

  • happy to be flexible and work on various different machines

  • willingness to be trained and developed

  • happy to do some overtime

  • happy to turn up and do the job

  • some welidng expeirence would be nice but not essential

    what we are looking for in an expierenced candidate:

  • Experience in mechanical assembly including sub-assembly build.

  • Physically fit – this role involves building large, bespoke machinery.

  • Can read engineering drawings.

  • Ideally someone with some welding knowledge or experience.
