The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our data strategy. This is a high-impact, hands-on position combining deep technical execution with strategic influence across the business.

You’ll lead key data science initiatives, work closely with stakeholders across commercial, product, and technical teams, and help define how we leverage data as a true business superpower. Alongside this, you will mentor and manage two junior data scientists, supporting their growth and elevating the team’s overall capability.

Working across the business

Reporting into our Director of Public Policy & Research, you will operate across our business, building with internal relationships with our Research & Insights, Technology, Product, Marketing and Sales functions – as well as external relationships, with our wider data partners.

Given the cross-functional nature of this role, we will look for you to build, maintain, and strengthen trusted relationships across the business, ensuring data solutions are understood, embraced, and drive real commercial value. 

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and deployment of data science solutions that deliver tangible commercial value

Work hands-on (“on the tools”) across the full data science lifecycle, from exploration to production

Shape and contribute to the company’s evolving data strategy

Manage and mentor a team of two Data Scientists

Promote best practices in data science, including experimentation, model validation, and reproducibility

Communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in a Senior Data Scientist or similar role, ideally within a SaaS or data-driven environment

Strong hands-on expertise in data science tools and techniques (e.g. Python, machine learning, statistical modelling)

Experience delivering data-driven solutions with measurable commercial impact

Exposure to or experience with Elastic (Elasticsearch) is highly desirable

Demonstrated experience managing or mentoring junior team members

Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across multiple functions

Strong problem-solving mindset with a proactive, commercially focused approach
