Electrical / Mechanical Build Technician
Location: Bristol
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Rate: £35-£40/hour (Umbrella)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35

A leading engineering and robotics company is seeking an experienced Electrical / Mechanical Build Technician to join their team on a 12-month contract in Bristol. This is a hands-on role requiring a high level of precision, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble precision mechanical and electrical components to engineering drawings

Conduct quality assurance checks on optical and mechanical assemblies

Kit components for builds in line with technical documentation

Collaborate with engineers to build and improve test rigs using rapid prototyping tools (e.g. 3D printing, laser cutting)

Run basic software scripts for testing purposes

Inspect incoming mechanical parts and ensure compliance with drawings

Document QA and build procedures clearly and accurately

Manage goods-in and organise outbound shipments

Maintain a safe, organised, and positive workshop environment

Required Skills & Experience:

HNC or higher in a relevant technical field

Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings

Strong assembly and mechanical inspection experience

Working knowledge of ISO 9000 quality standards and traceability processes

Excellent attention to detail and quality assurance focus

Flexible and solution-oriented with strong communication skills
