CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator

Location: Strood, Kent
Hours: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £40,000 pa + Overtime + Annual Bonus

Are you an experienced CNC professional with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for precision engineering?

We're looking for a CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator to join a high-performing engineering team, building advanced automation and robotic systems for some of the world's most demanding industries.

This is more than a machine shop role-you'll be a key part of the engineering process, transforming CAD models into real-world components that bring complex automation systems to life.

What You'll Be Doing:

Program, set, and operate CNC milling machines (primarily Haas)

Translate detailed engineering drawings into precision-machined parts

Use CAD/CAM software to develop efficient machining strategies

Machine a variety of metals and composites with consistently high quality

Work closely with mechanical and automation engineers during system development

Contribute ideas and feedback during prototype builds and custom projects

What You'll Bring:

Proven experience programming and operating CNC machines (milling essential, turning desirable)

Strong CAD/CAM software knowledge (Fusion 360, SolidCAM, or similar)

Deep understanding of machining processes, tooling, feeds, and speeds

Ability to work from complex technical drawings and models

A practical, problem-solving mindset with attention to detail

Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
