About the Company
Our client is a well-established and respected leader in safety and process control systems, delivering cutting-edge automation solutions across critical sectors including oil & gas, petrochemical, nuclear, and renewable energy. With decades of industry experience and a strong focus on innovation, safety, and reliability, they are expanding their engineering team and seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join them on a permanent basis at their Trafford Park site in Manchester.

Role Overview
As a Control Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in the full lifecycle delivery of automation and control systems - from initial concept through to detailed design, build, commissioning, and final handover. This is a hands-on, technically engaging position involving both office-based design and on-site commissioning work in the UK and abroad.

This role is ideal for engineers who have previously worked as a Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, PLC Engineer, or PLC Programmer, and are seeking stable, long-term work on complex and safety-critical systems.

    Required Experience & Skills
  • Ideally will have experience in a similar role (Control Systems Engineer, PLC Engineer, Systems Engineer, Software Engineer etc.).
  • Solid understanding of industrial automation, process control, and safety systems.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel for site work and commissioning (30-50% travel expected).
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to meet project deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    Desirable Qualifications (Not Essential)
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Control Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., oil & gas, nuclear, petrochemical).
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems or industrial networking.
