Controls Engineer

£45,000 - £60,000 + Profit Share + Overtime + Life Cover + Income Protection

Controls Engineer - The Role:

PLC Control & Software Development: Design, develop, and implement PLC control systems and software solutions tailored to special-purpose automated machinery.
Standards Compliance: Ensure all control and safety systems comply with relevant national and international regulations and standards (e.g., ISO, IEC, CE).
Robot Programming & Commissioning: Program and commission industrial robots, including KUKA, Fanuc, and ABB, to meet specific automation requirements.
Testing & Validation: Conduct comprehensive testing both in-house and on-site at customer facilities to ensure optimal system functionality and performance.
Project Delivery: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver automation projects on time and within budget, ensuring high standards of quality and reliability.
Controls Engineer - The Person:

Experience in industrial automation and control systems, with a strong background in delivering complex machine control projects on time and within budget.
Proficient in PLC programming, with hands-on experience in Rockwell / Allen-Bradley systems; open to leveraging skills with other PLC platforms, with training available if required.
Proven track record in automation and production machinery design, with a practical, hands-on engineering approach from concept through commissioning.
Knowledgeable in working with advanced technologies including vision systems, HMIs, motion control and robotics, contributing to improved machine performance and functionality.
Strong customer-facing skills with a commercial mindset; adept at interpreting client requirements and delivering tailored solutions.
Flexible and available for national and international travel (1–2 weeks at a time, several times per year) for on-site commissioning and client support.
Located in the Dundee area, relocation assistance can be provided and the role is also open to experienced individuals based in the UK who require sponsorship.
