The Role:
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be supporting day-to-day operations and ensuring the optimal performance of automation equipment. You will be involved in troubleshooting, maintaining, and calibrating advanced systems, making a key contribution to both internal and external project success.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for diagnosing and handling customer issues with automation systems.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance to ensure systems operate at peak performance.
  • Troubleshoot, upgrade, and calibrate complex automation instruments and robotic systems.
  • Commission and quality control robotic systems to meet client specifications.
  • Apply mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, focusing on root cause analysis and system component understanding.
  • Maintain clear and concise records of customer communications and issue resolutions.
  • Provide both remote and on-site support, ensuring adherence to service level agreements.
  • Follow up with customers post-resolution to ensure satisfaction and sustained performance.
  • Maintain and update the service knowledge base with relevant issue resolutions and customer feedback.
    The Ideal Candidate:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a field service or technical role, with a focus on electrical, mechanical, or instrumentation systems.
  • Strong hands-on skills in the maintenance and servicing of automation systems, with experience in robotic systems (e.g., ABB, Staubli, UR, Brooks).
  • Automation experience (ideally familiar with food, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or similar automation environments).
  • HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel up to 70% globally for on-site visits and support.
