Carmichael UK are recruiting for an experienced Land Surveyor to join the HS2 project in Northamptonshire, supporting the Senior Land Surveyor in managing the full scope of survey control, topographic measurement, and digital data processing using industry-leading tools and technology.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate survey data, managing point cloud information, setting out works, and liaising with engineering teams to deliver reliable site information that supports construction at every stage.

This role will suit someone passionate about geomatics, precision, and the application of modern survey methods on complex infrastructure works.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the setup and maintenance of the site survey control network

Carry out topographic, hydrographic, laser scanning, and measured building surveys

Use Trimble, GNSS, robotic total stations, 3D scanners, and drones

Produce high-quality AutoCAD drawings (2D & 3D) and analysis using Trimble Business Centre

Manage point cloud data: registration, processing, and interpretation

Perform precise traversing, levelling, and GNSS network surveys

Collaborate with Engineers and Consultants for approvals, plan updates, and inspections

Prepare survey reports, risk assessments, and method statements

Requirements:

HND/Degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or related discipline

Proven experience in site-based surveying on major infrastructure projects

Strong knowledge of Trimble equipment and AutoCAD

Experience using GIS software and survey control methods

Skilled in producing and presenting technical reports and drawings

Full UK driving licence and own vehicle required
