Experienced Manufacturing Process Engineer required to play a key role in designing, developing, and optimising manufacturing processes across end-to-end production — from sheet metal to paint and final assembly. Your work will drive efficiency, quality, and innovation while supporting the introduction of new products into production (NPI).

A strong foundation in manual assembly, process documentation, and cross-functional collaboration is essential and experience with robotics and automation would be of benefit.

Our client is a leading manufacturer in the Yellow Goods industry, producing equipment that powers essential operations worldwide. As part of their ongoing growth, they are seeking a skilled Process Engineer to join their Manufacturing Engineering team. This is a great opportunity to apply your expertise and experience in a forward-thinking environment.

Manufacturing Process Engineer Role:

Process Development & NPI Support

Improve existing workflows using modern, cost-effective methods.
Ensure new product designs are production-ready and manufacturable.
Conduct time studies and process analysis from first principles.

CAD & Layout Optimisation
Create and update 2D CAD layouts for manufacturing cells and equipment.
Optimise factory space and workflow alignment with practical implementation.

Process Documentation & Risk Management
Develop SOPs, work instructions, PFMEAs, and process flows.
Conduct risk assessments in collaboration with Health & Safety.
Ensure process changes and NPI introductions are documented and controlled.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with engineering, quality, production, and stores teams.
Facilitate smooth integration of improvements and new processes.
Deliver projects on time and within budget through effective stakeholder coordination.

Manual Assembly & Automation
Apply hands-on manual assembly experience to process development.
Investigate automation opportunities to increase productivity.

Manufacturing Process Engineer Requirements:

5+ years in process engineering within automotive or heavy manufacturing (Yellow Goods preferred).
Strong knowledge of process creation, optimisation, and layout design.
Proficient in 2D CAD (Draftsight), Siemens NX, and Microsoft Office.
Proven ability to write PFMEAs and conduct risk assessments.
Experience in supporting NPI from prototype to production.
Solid experience with manual assembly processes.
Desirable knowledge of automation (robotics, PLCs, material handling systems).

Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong team player who can work independently and cross-functionally.
Familiar with lean manufacturing principles.

Desirable Skills:
Experience with virtual CAD layout design.
Background in the Yellow Goods or heavy machinery sector.
Understanding of automated manufacturing systems.

Manufacturing Process Engineer Benefits:

How to Find Hidden Robotics Jobs in the UK Using Professional Bodies like IMechE, BARA & More

The robotics industry in the UK is evolving at pace—driven by advances in automation, AI, embedded systems and mechatronics. From autonomous vehicles and surgical robots to warehouse automation and space robotics, the demand for skilled professionals is growing fast. Yet despite this demand, many of the most exciting robotics jobs in the UK are never publicly advertised. They’re filled through professional networks, technical groups, academic partnerships and early-stage collaborations. In this article, we’ll show you how to uncover these hidden robotics jobs by getting involved with key organisations such as the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), BARA (British Automation and Robot Association), UK-RAS Network, and others. You’ll learn how to use directories, special interest groups (SIGs), CPD events, and innovation projects to discover opportunities before they’re made public.

How to Get a Better Robotics Job After a Lay-Off or Redundancy

Redundancy in the robotics industry can feel like a sudden halt, particularly in such a complex, fast-evolving field. But with robotics at the heart of innovation across manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, logistics, and defence, the UK continues to offer excellent career opportunities. Whether you're a robotics software engineer, systems integrator, mechanical design expert, or autonomous systems researcher, this guide is here to help you reset, rebrand, and relaunch your career after redundancy.

Robotics Jobs Salary Calculator 2025: Work Out Your True Worth in Seconds

Why yesterday’s pay survey is already outdated for UK robotics professionals Ask a Robotics Software Engineer fine‑tuning SLAM algorithms, a Mechatronics Engineer chasing motor‑controller jitter at 3 a.m., or a Field Robotics Specialist testing autonomous tractors in Somerset: “Am I earning what I deserve?” The honest answer changes every quarter. Retail warehouses roll out 1,000 collaborative arms overnight; battery subsidies super‑charge autonomous delivery start‑ups; & the UK government pledges £200 million for industrial robot adoption. Each shock nudges salary bands. Any salary guide printed in 2024 reads like a dusty datasheet—ignorant of the NHS surgical‑robot procurement boom, the Midlands EV‑assembly cobot surge, or the drone‑in‑dock pilots blanketing Scottish offshore wind farms. To turn guesswork into evidence, RoboticsJobs.co.uk distilled a transparent, three‑factor formula. Feed in your discipline, region, & seniority; you’ll get a realistic 2025 salary benchmark—no stale averages, no fuzzy “competitive” labels. This article unpacks the formula, spotlights six forces pushing robotics pay skyward, & sets out five practical moves to boost your market value inside ninety days.
