Alexander James Recruiting is currently working with a leading manufacturer of Material Handling and Automation equipment, seeking a Project Design Engineer. This position will involve creating AutoCAD drawing and carrying out calculations for Racking/Automation projects across the UK. With a competitive salary and overall package, this is a great opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer with a background within Intralogistics. 

Responsibilities

Working closely with the sales and projects team on all Racking and Automation projects
Creating detailed AutoCAD drawings to suit the requirements of the client
Attending customer sites across the UK to support the project/sales teams with client visits
Preparing cost calculations and quotes, ensuring these calculations are optimized to stay competitive
Maintaining communication streams with 3rd party suppliers, internal stakeholders and customersRequirements

The company have a preference for an individual who has worked for a Warehouse Automation or Racking business and has extensive experience in designing warehouse layouts using AutoCAD software. Having a background of doing customer facing work would also be highly preferable for this role since there will be an expectation to visit clients with the sales/project’s teams. You will be an individual who is capable of working autonomously as the role will be home based and requires national travel. In terms of location, you can be based anywhere across the UK.
