About the Role

As a Project Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, building, and implementing engineering solutions across multiple industries. Working closely with customers, internal teams, and external stakeholders, you’ll ensure the delivery of cutting-edge solutions that meet customer requirements, comply with industry standards, and achieve project objectives.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring all work complies with relevant laws, regulations, standards, specifications, and codes of practice.

Key Responsibilities

Design

Understand client requirements and proposed solutions.

Identify and interpret relevant international, British, and client standards.

Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Produce system schematics and design communication networks (Fibre, Ethernet, Serial, etc.).

Design PLC and SCADA systems, including sensor specification and interfacing.

Collaborate with CAD engineers on panel layouts, ensuring appropriate spacing, cable management, and accessibility.

Produce power/heating calculations, process diagrams, flow charts, and state diagrams.

Develop mimics, popups, Data Point Schedules (DPS), and compliance matrices.

Verify hardware suitability, certifications, and obsolescence risk.

Ensure designs meet time and budget constraints.

Production

Liaise with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.

Prepare requisitions for project hardware.

Supervise in-house or outsourced hardware builds.

Develop and modify PLC, HMI, and SCADA software in compliance with company standards.

Create additional software tools where necessary.

Factory Testing

Design and assist in workshop test setups.

Produce Factory Test Specifications and test cases.

Conduct factory testing with or without client witnesses.

Accurately record test documentation and manage defect resolution.

Packaging & Delivery

Specify and procure packaging for equipment.

Supervise and assist in packing and delivery to site.

Site Works & Testing

Produce Method Statements and Risk Assessments.

Create Site Test Specifications and execute site testing.

Supervise subcontractors and manage defect resolution.

Documentation

Update as-built drawings.

Produce spares lists, O&M manuals, and health & safety files.

Warranty

Provide site support for warranty issues and maintain accurate defect logs.

Collaborate with the project team to ensure successful project delivery.

Follow company project delivery processes and contribute to continuous improvement.

About You

Strong understanding of PLC/SCADA systems and industrial automation.

Experience with control system design and project delivery.

Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Commitment to compliance, quality, and safety.
