Senior Control Software Engineer – Powertrain

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Control Software Engineer to join our dynamic Powertrain team. You will be responsible for full lifecycle development of control software for HV battery systems, EV powertrain, and ICE automotive projects. This is a critical role that contributes directly to the performance, safety, and innovation of our next-generation automotive systems.

Key Responsibilities

Full V-Cycle development of model-based control software for battery and powertrain systems, in line with industry and internal standards.
Development following ASPICE, MAB, MISRA, and ISO26262 guidelines.
Requirement elicitation at stakeholder, system, and software levels.
Design and implementation of control strategies and advanced software algorithms.
Software simulation using MIL/HIL tools and calibration refinement using industry tools.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure timely, cost-effective software and hardware delivery.
Commissioning and testing of vehicle control systems using both internal and external facilities.
Actively support prototype and pre-production software releases.
Research and propose new technologies to enhance engineering capability.
Participate in FMEA, issue reporting, and validation processes.
Represent the company in technical meetings and discussions with customers.
Apply structured problem-solving tools such as 8D and Ishikawa.
Continuously improve skills, tools, and practices to maintain high standards of performance.
Required Skills and Experience

Degree-qualified (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Engineering or Computer Science.
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in model-based software engineering within series production or motorsport environments (OEM, Tier 1, or consultancy).
Expert-level proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow and related toolboxes.
Strong knowledge of HV battery systems, EV powertrain, and ICE technologies.
Experience with vehicle/system-level requirement capture and calibration tools.
Proficient in version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, SVN).
Demonstrated ability in MIL, SIL, HIL, and vehicle-level testing.
Familiar with industry software quality and safety standards (MISRA, ASPICE, ISO26262).
Skilled in automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN) and debugging EE systems.
Strong communicator with a proactive, customer-focused mindset.
Desirable Skills

Experience with Machine Learning/AI in automotive applications.
Familiarity with CI/CD toolchains and Agile development methodologies.
