Job Description:
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, improving, and implementing manufacturing processes for the production of robotic lawnmowers. You will be responsible for concept design, procurement, installation, and continuous improvement of production equipment, ensuring operational efficiency and alignment with the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and specify equipment for the manufacture of robotic lawnmowers.

  • Control the purchasing, installation, and project management of production equipment.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

  • Prepare justifications, quotations, and investment requests for new equipment (CAPEX).

  • Estimate manufacturing costs and timings for new products and processes.

  • Ensure equipment compliance with UKCA and PUWER standards, including all necessary documentation and training.

  • Design production line layouts and perform line balancing.

  • Safely install and set up new equipment and improve existing systems.

  • Collaborate closely with Production, R&D, and New Product Introduction teams to support industrialisation, costing, and build plans.

  • Support 'Design for Manufacture' and 'Design for Automation' initiatives.

  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

    Skills & Experience Required:

  • Strong understanding of CE/UKCA marking and PUWER regulations.

  • Proven experience applying Lean Manufacturing techniques.

  • Solid understanding of production environments.

  • Relevant Engineering degree or equivalent significant experience.

  • Proficiency in APQP documentation including Process Flow and PFMEA.

  • Experience creating and maintaining process routings using time and motion studies.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
