Central recruitment are looking for Time served Welder/Fabricators for our client based in the Burnley area.

The Role

As a Skilled Welder/Fabricator, you'll be instrumental in producing high-quality work, meeting targeted output levels, and ensuring full product traceability, all while maintaining a safe working environment. You'll work as part of a collaborative team, contributing to the continuous improvement of working processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Operating manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.

Using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment for MIG/MAG and TIG processes to fuse metal pieces.

Ensuring all welding meets our standards

Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Manually handling weights up to 25kg.

Using hand fettling/grinding tools.

Performing welding tasks productively.

Reading and completing tasks to meet technical drawings, understanding weld symbols and weld procedures (WPS).

Setting up and operating fabricating machines such as press brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses.

Fabricating and assembling sheet metal products.

Setting up and operating machine tools associated with fabricating shops (e.g., radial drill press, end mill, edge planer).

Bending and straightening metal by hammering, chipping, and grinding.

Completing quality documentation.

Experience & Knowledge:

Proficient knowledge of MIG/MAG & TIG welding equipment and assigned welding techniques.

Prior experience operating robot welders is advantageous.

Seam weld experience is preferred.

Experience using laser equipment is desirable.

A crucial aspect of this role is taking ownership of your work's quality, fostering a 'right first time' philosophy. You'll also receive internal and external training to stay updated with factory processes and equipment.

Hours of Work

This is a 38-hour per week role with a requirement for flexibility across various shifts:

Nights: Monday to Thursday, 10:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Rate of Pay

£15.28 with £4.53 shift allowance so total £19.81 per hour
