Your role

You will be part of Sensor Systems UK, working in the Farnborough office. We are a diverse group of professionals and our work culture and organisation values everybody's opinion - these differences set the conditions for our competitive advantage.

As a Quality and Configuration Manager, with focus on Software Development, you will support the Software Development and Software Engineering manager with all Quality Assurance activities, support the Management Teams with Quality initiatives, as well as act as quality support for Line Managers and employees within the organisation.

This role will focus on Software Quality Assurance Engineer (SQAE) supporting projects, and will work with the wider Sensor Systems UK organisation. The SQAE is an independent role, responsible for planning, execution and reporting of the software quality assurance activities during projects software development. You will also have responsibilities as a Configuration Manager within projects, working in support of the Software Engineering Management Plan to ensure we deliver software of the highest quality.

In addition to the SQAE and Configuration roles, you will be required to handle a wide range of tasks within the framework of quality management in all your assignments.

You will also perform internal audits, either on your own, or as part of a wider audit team.

We work closely with our office in Sweden so a willingness to travel and good communication skills are a must, and you will report directly to the Software Engineering Manager.

Your profile

You have a technical background (preferably within Software Development), with a thorough interest of quality assurance and operational excellence.

We think that you should have a well-developed drive and integrity, in order to fulfil the role as Quality/Configuration Manager, since some quality actions may be challenging.

You have a coaching approach with good skills in change management and improvements.

We believe that an open environment, where everyone's opinions and ideas are welcome, is a prerequisite for our future development

Required skills:

Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering or other relevant college education (preferably within Software Development).
Experience of Quality Assurance activities within Software Development.
Experience of Configuration management within Software Development.
Audit experience .
Experience of certification to standards ISO 9001 and/or EN9100.
Good written and verbal English language skills .
The ability to work well with many different people and professions is a key to success and excellent communication skills is required.

Relevant education and experience within quality management
Knowledge of standards RTCA DO-278A and RTCA DO-178C
Experience of the Saab product portfolio
Configuration Management experience
Leadership experience
