Imperial Recruitment Group are delighted to announce that we are working exclusively on behalf of a long established Tier 1 Automotive manufacturer engineering organisation to recruit a Technical Supervisor on a permanent basis.

LOCATION: Sunderland

SALARY: Competitive

LENGTH OF CONTRACT: Permanent

ROLE SUMMARY:

Reporting directly to the Maintenance & Facilities Manager, the role requires a hardworking Technical Supervisor who can work well under pressure and to all deadlines and quality standards.

DUTIES ARE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Creating maintenance schedules and delegating tasks to team members.

Oversee the installation, calibration and maintenance of company equipment.

Maintaining safety standards, conducting risk assessments.

To ensure full reactive and planned maintenance of electrical, mechanical and robotic equipment and system.

To fully support installation and improvement projects.

To provide technical back-up to team.

Controlling of suppliers in for repairs and maintenance.

Controlling and monitoring inventory.

Coordinating work performed by outside vendors.

Work closely with production management teams to ensure production runs efficiently.

Work with departments to ensure any fault finding is identified and actioned in a timely manner.

To make recommendations regarding potential improvements to techniques, methods, processes/procedures and safety.

Oversee proactive and reactive maintenance to all equipment.

Oversee fault diagnosis and rectification of plant equipment.

Attend design reviews, 8D, OEE and production meetings as required.

Ensure all engineering process and procedures follow COSHH and all Health and Safety guidelines.

To promote improvement in people skills, H&S and Environment.

Adhering to 5s in all aspects of the role.

To represent the Company in a positive and professional manner at all times.

To adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures.

To adhere to the Company Health and Safety Policy at all times.

Work to IATF standards and procedures.

Ensure that the training and development needs of the department are fulfilled.

To monitor key performance indicators and provide information for department reporting.

To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Maintenance & Facilities Manager.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE:

HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent

Knowledge of IATF 16949: 2016

Understanding and experience with the 5 core quality tools, including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC

Proven track record, ideally in a fast-paced Automotive manufacturing environment

Technical understanding of electrical, mechanic and hydraulic systems for planning and troubleshooting

Problem solving skills

Ability to communicate to all levels, internally and externally

A good team player

Ability to support the management team

Adaptability and flexibility

Ability to use IT programs – Excel, Word and PowerPoint
