Position: Test Technician

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 - Depending on experience

Location: Basildon

Hours: Mon to Thurs 07:30 to 16:00 and Fri 07:30 to 12:30

Proactive are currently recruiting for an experienced Test Technician to begin work for a leading electronics manufacturing company based in Basildon. This is an exciting opportunity working for a world leader in the design, manufacture, assembly and distribution of high quality electronic equipment.

As a Test Technician, you play a key part in quality control in production. You will work as part of a test team performing test procedures, compiling data and helping to ensure that all products we manufacture for our wide-ranging customer portfolio meet the required levels of quality before reaching each customer.

Main responsibilities

Operate automatic and manual test equipment to test PCBs and assemblies to given specifications.
Provide and record accurate test result sheets, sharing relevant findings with Engineering and Quality colleagues to support with continuous improvement to the product or process.
Read and interpret circuit diagrams of PCBs and assemblies, to assist in fault finding and resolving test failures.
Maintain equipment used for testing, including regular cleaning, calibration and repair of tools or machines, ensuring they remain in optimal condition for accurate tests.
Implement changes in testing protocols as required and making any technical and procedural recommendations for improvement.Skills, knowledge & experience

Previous electronics manufacturing industry experience.
Some knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
Full awareness of Health and Safety issues relating to an electrical/electronic test environment.
Experience in the design and assembly of test jigs would be advantageous.
Analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Demonstrates a good eye for detail and works accurately and efficiently.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and other IT systems.
