About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer with hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs, HMI systems, and TIA Portal for programming, fault-finding, and system optimisation. This role will focus on the programming, configuration, and maintenance of automated systems, ensuring optimum performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities



Design, develop, and program control systems using Siemens PLCs and TIA Portal.

*

Configure, test, and maintain HMI (Human Machine Interface) systems.

*

Conduct fault-finding, diagnostics, and root cause analysis on automation equipment to minimise downtime.

*

Modify and optimise existing control systems to improve efficiency and reliability.

*

Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including software backups, change logs, and schematics.

*

Support commissioning and installation of new equipment and upgrades.

*

Work closely with cross-functional teams (maintenance, production, engineering) to troubleshoot and resolve automation issues.

*

Ensure all automation systems comply with relevant safety and quality standards.

Skills & Experience Required

*

Proven experience programming and commissioning Siemens PLCs (S7 family preferred) using TIA Portal.

*

Strong knowledge of HMI development/configuration

*

Solid understanding of industrial automation networks, sensors, and instrumentation.

*

Demonstrated ability to interrogate and fault-find control systems quickly and effectively.
