Controls / Automation Engineer

Questech Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for an experienced Controls / Automation Engineer.

Salary: £45,000 per annum

Shifts: Monday to Friday - Days (6:00am-2:00pm or 7:00am-3:00pm)

The Role

* Fault finding and programming of PLC-controlled machinery.

* Support and improve automated production equipment.

* Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.

* Diagnose electrical and control system faults.

* Assist with continuous improvement and automation projects.

* Commission new equipment and support installation work.

* Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.

* Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime.

The Person

* Previous experience as a Controls Engineer, Automation Engineer or PLC Engineer.

* Strong PLC fault-finding experience (programming knowledge is advantageous).

* Electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent).

* Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

* Able to read and interpret electrical drawings.

* Proactive approach with excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
