A growing specialist engineering consultancy is seeking an Electrical Designer to join its expanding engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a technically focused organisation delivering bespoke electrical and control systems across complex industrial and energy-related projects.

Working as part of a small and collaborative design team, you will be involved in the design of LV control panel systems, supporting projects from concept through to build and commissioning.

The role offers strong technical exposure, long-term project work, and the opportunity to develop your skills within a supportive engineering environment.

Electrical Design Engineer - The Role:

  • Electrical design of LV control panel systems
  • Producing schematics, wiring diagrams and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical
  • Supporting design activities from concept through to manufacture
  • Collaborating with controls engineers and project teams
  • Assisting with technical documentation and design updates
  • Occasional site support and commissioning activities (~10% travel)
  • Very occasional offshore work

You will join a team of four designers, within a supportive and collaborative technical environment.

Electrical Design Engineer - The Person:

  • c3+ years’ experience of control panel electrical design for industrial automation
  • Experience designing LV control panels
  • Experience using AutoCAD Electrical or other electrical CAD / 3D electrical design software
  • Knowledge of HV systems would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work within a project team
  • Willingness to occasionally support site activities

Located in Tyne & Wear, this role would be commutable from Newcastle upon Tyne, Sunderland, Durham, Gateshead, Jarrow, Hebburn, Washington, Chester-le-Street, Blyth, Cramlington, Seaham North Shields, South Shields, Morpeth, Peterlee and surrounding areas.
