The OpportunityWe are looking for an experienced and customer-focusedElectromechanical Field Service Engineer to join a growing field engineering team.
This is a home-based, field service position ideally suited to someone living within approximately 20 miles of Oxford, covering customers predominantly across the Midlands.
Initially, the role will have a strong focus on thehealthcare sector, including ophthalmology and the servicing, repair and installation ofultrasound equipment. Full product training will be provided, with the opportunity to develop your skills across additional technologies and equipment disciplines over time.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys fault finding, working independently and providing a high standard of technical support directly to customers.
The RoleAs a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of specialist medical, ophthalmic and robotic equipment at customer sites.
Your responsibilities will include:
Installing, servicing, repairing and maintaining specialist equipment.
Carrying out equipment moves, changes, upgrades and modifications.
Diagnosing and resolving electrical, electronic, software and electromechanical faults.
Providing a professional, responsive and proactive service to customers.
Troubleshooting technical problems in a responsible and methodical manner.
Communicating effectively with customers throughout service visits to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Maintaining effective communication with your manager, team leader and wider engineering team.
Completing service documentation and updating internal systems accurately and within required timescales.
Managing and maintaining vehicle stock and spare parts inventory.
Managing customer returns and the compliant disposal of returned equipment and parts in accordance with relevant ISO and WEEE procedures.
Following all relevant Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices.
Attending and successfully completing relevant product and technical training.
Supporting other regions of the UK when required.
Working across additional equipment and technologies following appropriate training.
About YouWe are looking for someone with strong core engineering skills who is comfortable working independently in a customer-facing field service environment.
Previous engineering experience within a related technical environment would be beneficial, particularly experience involving:
Electrical engineering
Electronic engineering
Electromechanical equipment
Software-based fault finding
Medical or healthcare equipment
Field service engineering
Experience within medical equipment is advantageous but not necessarily essential where candidates can demonstrate strong transferable engineering skills.
You should also have:

QualificationsIdeally, you will hold an engineering qualification such as:
City & Guilds, ONC or HNC in Engineering or equivalent.
A minimum of three GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English, is desirable.
Location & TravelThis is ahome-based field service role, with candidates ideally located within approximately20 miles of Oxford.
You will predominantly support customers across the Midlands; however, flexibility is required as occasional travel to other areas of the UK will be necessary.
There may also be occasional requirements forEuropean travel, so you must hold a current valid passport or be able to obtain one.
Working HoursThe role is based on45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, excluding a 60-minute break.
Core customer coverage is between8:00am and 6:00pm, although occasional early starts and late finishes may be required depending on customer requirements and travel.
There is also a requirement to work approximately1 in 4 Saturdays, consisting of an additional 9 hours.
