Location: Bedfordshire (Mix of on-site & Field-Based work)
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 + Excellent Pension + Early Finish Fridays
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm (Friday finish at 2:00pm)
Work Pattern: Split between on-site and customer-based work (structured, with pre-agreed rota and focus on work-life balance)

I’m working on behalf of a well-established automation solutions provider supporting the FMCG and packaging sectors. They’re looking to bring in a well-rounded Service Engineer who thrives in both workshop and customer-facing environments.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a business known for its innovation, team culture, and strong customer relationships, where engineers are genuinely valued and supported, as the company is run by Engineering professionals who have an appreciation for the craft.

The Role:

  • Carry out installation, commissioning, servicing, and support on automated packaging and processing machinery

  • Split your time between the company’s Bedfordshire site and customer locations across the UK

  • Work from a pre-agreed schedule and rota, ensuring good balance and structure, albeit, there are reactive breakdowns which must be prioritised

  • Act as a trusted representative on customer sites, taking ownership of issues and following through with solutions

  • Support internal teams in improving service delivery and identifying potential improvements both internally and for customers

    The Ideal Candidate:

  • Background in service, maintenance, or installation engineering – ideally in packaging, automation, FMCG, or related sectors

  • Strong both Mechanically and electrically, competent with good fault-finding abilities

  • Exposure to automation and robotics (ABB and Mitsibushi)

  • Confident communicator who can represent the business professionally with customers

  • Flexible, reliable, and committed to seeing jobs through properly

  • Full UK driving licence

    What’s on Offer:

  • Competitive salary between £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience

  • Excellent 8% non-contributory pension (no employee contribution required)

  • Early finish every Friday at 2:00pm

  • Opportunity to go on recognised courses paid for by the company, enhancing your skillset within automation and robotics in particular

  • Supportive, well-structured team environment

  • Opportunity to develop and grow long-term within a technically led, engineering-focused business

If you’re looking for a new challenge in a stable and growing company that offers both responsibility and support, I’d love to hear from you
