Field Service Engineer – Home Based - UK Wide + International Travel – £38-45k + Company Car + Overtime

Samuel Frank is recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join a well-established manufacturer of industrial automation and packaging machinery. This role will suit an electrically biased, multi-skilled engineer who enjoys fault finding and working on customer sites across a range of manufacturing environments.

The successful Field Service Engineer can be based anywhere in the UK. The position is heavily site-based and could suit someone at the earlier stage of their career who is progressing well and wants to accelerate their development in a hands-on, customer-facing role.

Key aspects of the Field Service Engineer role include –

* Carrying out service, maintenance and fault finding on automated machinery across FMCG, food and automotive environments

* Performing testing and diagnostics to ensure equipment is fully operational before handover

* Delivering training to customers on operation and basic maintenance of machinery

* Completing preventative maintenance activities and installing retrofit upgrades

* Acting as the on-site representative of the business, building strong working relationships with customers

* Identifying opportunities for improvements, spare parts and ongoing service support

* This role involves significant travel – around 95% of your time will be spent away from home, with approximately 75% of site work within the UK and the remainder overseas.

The ideal Field Service Engineer will have –

* Electrically biased but multi-skilled background; including controls, drives and fault finding

* Experience within manufacturing environments such as FMCG, food or automotive

* Exposure to industrial automation, packaging machinery or special purpose equipment

* Strong problem-solving ability and confidence working independently

* Clear communication skills and a professional approach on customer sites

* Full UK driving licence
