Here at GXO, we are looking for aH&S Advisor with a background inAutomation Engineering to join out team on our Carlsberg Britvic contract based inRugby and Lutterworth. You will manage and facilitate all Automation Engineering Health and Safety activities in a manner that ensures all statutory and company requirements are achieved and maintained in support of the business objectives. This is a hands-on role and reports to the Engineering Manager / Team Leader and liaise with the on-site health and safety team. This is a multi-site role across 2 sites currently, Carlsberg Britvic NDC (Lutterworth) and Carlsberg Britvic - production (Rugby)

This is a full time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday 08:00 till 16:00. However, we do ask for some flexibility as you may need to swap some time around to attend the night shift.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Escalate/report all accidents/incidents/near misses/hazards as necessary using the site internal escalation process
  • Assist Engineering managers in investigations of accidents/incidents/near misses where necessary
  • Conduct health & safety compliance checks and audits for automation engineering functions
  • Responsible to ensure all actions assigned to this individual are completed thoroughly and on time e.g. Safe systems of work, contractor reviews
  • Maintain and update H&S files as needed and completing monthly reports e.g. accidents on sites, safety conversations, near misses, prepare monthly H&S slides for presentation, audits of ISO standards
  • Supporting development of toolbox talks and H&S briefs and updating H&S communication boards across site(s)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement (CI) project work

What you need to succeed at GXO:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) following CPD
  • NVQ Level 3 – Engineering Maintenance
  • Engineering or Automation warehouse background
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, in particular Microsoft word and excel
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Knowledge of UK Health & Safety Legislation and pertinent regulations – Automation requirements
