About the Company: This innovative engineering firm is developing specialist robots that are redefining the possibilities of the robotics industry. They are looking for a driven, curious Mechatronics Engineer to join their team in Birmingham and help push the boundaries of what machines can do.
About the Role: This isn't a role where you'll spend months shadowing someone else. From day one, you'll be hands-on - designing, building, and solving real engineering challenges alongside a tight-knit team of talented, multidisciplinary engineers, all working toward one ambitious goal.
What you’ll be doing:
Designing and developing mechatronic systems for robotic platforms.
Working across the full mechatronics stack—from CAD design and PCB layout to firmware and software integration.
Collaborating closely with the wider engineering team to bring complex systems from concept to prototype to production.
Troubleshooting, iterating, and refining—because that's where the real learning happens.
Testing and commissioning their robots.
Debugging and improving their software stack, including implementing the future of their localisation and automation stack. What they are looking for:
Graduate to 2 years of experience in mechatronics, robotics, or a closely related field.
Solid CAD skills (SolidWorks or Fusion 360).
Experience with PCB design.
Familiarity with ROS1 and Linux (ROS2 is a bonus).
Programming experience in Python and C++.
A hands-on mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
