Area Sales Engineer – Industrial Automation (East Anglia, potentially over to Leicester and Coventry)

Are you passionate about industrial automation, pneumatics and associated technology, motion control, and delivering intelligent engineering solutions?

I am looking for an experienced Area Sales Engineer (Living somewhere in East Anglia, Coventry or Leicester) to join a leading industrial automation company, where you’ll combine your technical expertise with a consultative sales approach to support customers, this could be looking after either the distribution partners, or the OEM customer base within the East Anglia area. This role focuses on delivering high-value automation solutions, strengthening long-term partnerships, and driving sustainable growth.

To be considered for this opportunity, the successful candidate must be a Full UK Citizen, and must have significant experience in electric automation, covering: servo motion control,

Your Role

As Area Sales Engineer, you will act as a trusted advisor to either OEM customers or distributors, helping them optimise their processes through innovative automation solutions.

* Develop and grow relationships with distribution partners and key industrial customers, or the OEM customer base.

* Support customers in identifying, designing, and implementing automation solutions

* Drive sales growth and identify new opportunities

* Deliver value-based, solution-oriented sales rather than product-only approaches

* Collaborate with internal teams to provide technically and commercially robust solutions

* Contribute to joint business planning and market development initiatives

* Act as the face of the business, representing a strong, innovative automation brand

Your Technical Expertise

You will bring a strong foundation in industrial automation and electromechanical systems, with particular focus on:

Electromechanical Engineering & Motion Control

* PLC control technology and electrical systems

* Servo drive technologies and stepper motor control

* Handling solutions including pneumatics, electric cylinders, grippers and associated drives

What You Bring

* Experience in industrial automation, pneumatics, motion control, or mechatronic systems

* A consultative, solution-oriented sales mindset

* Strong communication skills with the ability to influence technical and commercial stakeholders

* Ability to understand customer processes and translate them into automation solutions

* Proactive, self-driven approach with a focus on results and customer value

* Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team

* Degree/HNC or equivalent experience in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronics Engineering

* Experience within industrial automation or technical sales

* Full driving licence and willingness to travel
