Service & Commissioning Engineer
Salary:£40,000–£55,000 + Overtime
Location:Waterbeach | UK & Overseas Travel
Hours:40-hour week with flexible structure
A leading designer and builder of bespoke machinery and automated equipment for high-tech and regulated sectors is seeking aService & Commissioning Engineer. You’ll support commissioning of special-purpose machinery, deliver on-site and remote customer support, and play a key role in ensuring high-quality engineering outcomes.
The Role
- Commission new machinery on client sites in the UK and overseas
- Carry out planned maintenance and servicing
- Provide remote diagnostics and troubleshooting support
- Manage customer assistance requests through the ticketing system
- Support installation, setup and post-delivery activities
- Work collaboratively with internal engineering teams and client stakeholders
What You’ll Need
- Strong experience working with mechanical and electrical industrial machinery
- HND/HNC/C&G in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Background in automation, product handling or special-purpose machinery
- PLC fault-finding skills (Omron/Beckhoff highly desirable)
- Ability to make minor HMI modifications (Visual Studio experience beneficial)
- Competence configuring drives and motors
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
- Highly organised, proactive and able to work independently
- Full UK driving licence and eligibility for international travel
