Technical Sales Engineer

£50,000 - £65,000 + c25% Bonus + £7K Car Allowance + Pension + Health

Technical Sales Engineer - The Role:

  • Developconsultative, solution-led proposals for automation and control systems
  • Engage with customers as atrusted technical advisor, understanding operational challenges and delivering value-driven solutions
  • Produceaccurate cost estimates across hardware, software, installation, and commissioning
  • Prepare and presentprofessional proposals, tenders, and quotations
  • Negotiate commercial and technical aspects to secure profitable projects
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle frominitial enquiry through to order placement
  • Support smooth project handover and collaborate with delivery teams
  • Maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients
  • Stay current with emerging technologies in automation and industrial systems

Technical Sales Engineer - The Person:

  • Degree or diploma in Electrical, Automation, or related engineering discipline
  • Proven experience deliveringautomation or control system projects
  • Strong technical knowledge of:
  • PLC & SCADA systems
  • Electrical and control system design
  • Industrial networking
  • Experience with platforms such asSiemens or Rockwell (desirable)
  • Ability to developtechnical solutions, costings, and client proposals
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts
  • A proactive, self-driven approach with a focus on results

Located in Cambridgeshire, ideal commutable locations would include Kettering, Corby, Peterborough, Northampton, Cambridge, Bedford, Kings Lynn and surrounding areas.
