Job Title: Account Manager – Advanced Engineering & Composites
Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000

Role Overview

As an Account Manager, you will serve as the key liaison between clients and the company’s advanced engineering and production teams. You will be responsible for managing relationships, ensuring client satisfaction, and identifying opportunities to deliver tailored engineering solutions that align with the company’s technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship & Development



Act as the primary point of contact for a diverse client base, including global OEMs, race teams, specialist manufacturers and private collectors.

Grow and retain client accounts through proactive engagement, upselling and cross-sector collaboration across automotive, motorsport, aerospace, marine, heritage and defence.

Project Coordination & Delivery Oversight

*

Liaise closely with internal departments (sales, engineering, production, quality, operations and finance) to ensure seamless project execution.

*

Oversee the complete project lifecycle—from quotation and scoping to final delivery—maintaining clear communication and managing expectations throughout.

*

Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest technical standards.

Technical Understanding & Solution Development

*

Develop a deep understanding of the company’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities, including carbon fibre monocoque structures, additive manufacturing, robotic laminating and bespoke vehicle programmes.

*

Translate technical capabilities into tailored proposals that meet client requirements and align with operational feasibility.

Account Strategy & Business Growth

*

Create and implement strategic account plans to identify growth opportunities, innovations and sustainable solutions.

*

Provide regular account performance reviews and recommendations to maximise revenue and profitability.

Communication & Reporting

*

Keep clients informed of new technologies, developments and product innovations.

*

Deliver regular updates, forecasts and reports to senior management, highlighting key opportunities and risks.

Candidate Requirements

Experience & Skills

*

Proven success managing complex projects, quotations, contracts and strategic accounts.

*

Comfortable working with technically focused clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Technical Knowledge

*

Understanding of, or the ability to quickly learn, composite manufacturing, additive and robotic technologies, CAD/CAE tools and end-to-end engineering workflows.

*

An interest in motorsport, high-performance vehicles or lightweight structural design would be beneficial.
