JOB DESCRIPTION: OT Applications Engineer - Automation, Manufacturing
 
As part of an ongoing digital transformation programme, our Automation Team is expanding and now requires an OT Applications Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of advanced automation and operational technology solutions.
 
We create bespoke automated equipment and production lines, working with major suppliers and cutting-edge technologies including industrial robots, cobots, 3D printing, and smart factory / Industry 4.0 systems. This role will support both UK (Wrexham) and overseas manufacturing facilities.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: OT Applications Engineer - Automation, Manufacturing
 
On a day to day basis, as our OT Applications Engineer, you will :
· Design, develop, implement, and maintain OT applications and automation systems
· Configure and deploy SCADA, HMI, and MES systems across production environments
· Develop automation scripts and PLC logic for industrial control systems
· Build and integrate custom OT applications using C# and web-based languages/frameworks
· Commission, test, and validate OT applications on production lines
· Integrate OT systems with enterprise IT platforms for analytics, reporting, and IT/OT convergence
 
PERSON SPECIFICATION: OT Applications Engineer - Automation, Manufacturing
 
· Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or a related discipline
· Strong experience with SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC UA,Ethernet/IP)
· Proficient in C# for application development and system integration, with database knowledge
· Able to work under pressure to tight deadlines across multiple projects
· Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
